Doing what I love to do…

Due to my dedication to our industry and my relentless work ethic, I have had opportunities to grow within this exciting industry of Automotive Dealership Management

After attending the University of Memphis from 1991 to 1994, seeking a degree in Electrical Engineering, I decided to change direction and start my automotive career in Memphis, TN at Covington Pike Toyota. While working as a salesperson and eventually a finance manager, I quickly came to enjoy the dynamic nature of the automobile industry. I picked the automotive industry because I had always been fascinated with cars. I realized soon after I started that I loved helping people purchase vehicles. Because of my dedication to our industry and my relentless work ethic, I have had opportunities to grow within this exciting industry of Automotive Dealership Management.

I joined Chuck Hutton Toyota in 2005 gaining experience in sales management, used car management, general sales management and finally working as the General Manager. We experienced positive success in every area of the dealership including New Vehicle Sales, Used Vehicle Sales, and Service & Parts Sales. Our customer satisfaction and retention are consistently at top marks.

Upon assuming the role of General Manager in 2018, my primary focus was to offer our customers a stellar experience when they visit Chuck Hutton Toyota. I was able to achieve that by retraining existing management along with hiring younger staff. As a result, we were ranked eleventh for 2021 and top ten for 2022 in Toyota Certified nationally. With Toyota Finance, our portfolio has grown to their top tier. The prestigious Presidents Award has been achieved every year since 2018.

In April of 2020, Henry Hutton gave me the opportunity to buy Chuck Hutton Toyota. I discussed it with my wife, and I pursued the purchase. As Dealer Principal, my focus is to maintain the current work culture and grow our dealership’s profitability. We currently average over $150 million revenue each year and I feel there is room to increase that.

I believe our future is bright as I continue to adapt to our changing culture. My commitment to grow profitability and efficiency is based on executing new ideas and concepts which fit in a forward-thinking model. I am also looking forward to expanding our brand both locally as well as nationally, as we continue to experience success.
